Cleanser, Toner and Exfoliator

Cleanser                                                                                                              Cleansers  clean your skin, but they do so while also hydrating and soothing. They’re usually richer in texture compared to face washes: think creamy or milky gels, oils, and balms ranging from thick to thin. Additionally, face cleansers are often formulated with ingredients that aim to nourish your skin, balance your complexion, and boost moisture levels.

Facial cleansers gently clean your skin without stripping away too much oil, they’re considered an ideal product for all skin types, including oily, normal, combination, sensitive and dry.

Toner                                                                                                                             A toner's job is meant to gently refresh your skin without stripping it of its natural moisture. This means toner won't irritate sensitive skin or cause excessive dryness. Toner also prepares the skin to drink up your post-cleansing moisturizer and any other skin treatments that you may apply.

Use a toner in the morning and in the evening after cleansing. Apply in the morning to help remove oils that have built up on the face overnight. In the evening, the toner will help to remove any lingering makeup, impurities and residue.

"Toners are most helpful and necessary for people with oily or acne-prone skin, or for people who want extra cleansing after wearing makeup or other heavy skin products such as sunscreen," she said. If you're wondering what else face toner does for your skin, King outlined some additional benefits: It shrinks pores.

Toners do not have any adverse side effects, as long as you avoid alcohol-based ones which may irritate your skin

Exfoliator                                                                                                              Whether you have an oily-combination or dry and dehydrated skin type, everyone can benefit from exfoliation step in their skincare regime. It’s the secret to combating uneven texture and attaining that silky-smooth skin we all want and love.

Exfoliants are amazing for decongesting clogged pores. For those who have acne-prone skin, look out for exfoliators that are formulated with BHAs such as salicylic acid that penetrates deep into the pores in order to clean them out. Powerful yet gentle on the skin, they can also be used to prevent future breakouts or minimise the look of pores as they help get rid of any dirt or debris that is sitting on the skin.
